好評いただいているライダーインタビュー。今回は、フランスのJykk Snowscoot公式販売代理店「WTC EXTREME」に所属し、Jykk フランスチームとして活動してくれているMatéo Cirechへのインタビューをお届けします！

自己紹介をお願いします！

こんにちは！マテオ・シレッシュ、33歳です。フランスのオーヴェルニュ地方にある小さな町イソワールで生まれました。
スノースクートのライディング歴は16年になります。そしてフリースタイルBMXを20年、マウンテンバイクのダウンヒルを18年やっています。普段は自転車のメカニックとマウンテンバイクのインストラクターをしていて、自然、動物、そしてメタルバンドのSLAYERが大好きです🤘🏻😂

Please introduce yourself!

Hey!! My name is Matéo Cirech, I’m 33 years old. I was born in Issoire, a small town in the Auvergne region of France. I’ve been riding Snowscoot for 16 years, I’ve also been doing freestyle BMX (for 20 years) and downhill mountain biking (for 18 years). In real life, I’m a bike mechanic and mountain bike instructor. I love nature, animals, and the band SLAYER 🤘🏻😂

ホームのスキーリゾートはどこですか？魅力も教えてください。

家の近所にSuper Besseリゾートがあるのですが、残念ながら5年間スノーパークがなく、雪もどんどん少なくなっています。
そのため、家から4時間離れたAvoriazスキーリゾートまで行かなければなりません。
ここにはフランスで最高のスノーパークの1つがあり、さらにフランスチームの他の2人のライダー、QuentinとRémyがここのローカルで一緒に滑ることができるので、お気に入りのリゾートです。

What is your home ski resort? And what is the appeal of it?

Next to my house there is the Super Besse resort, unfortunately there hasn’t been a snowpark for 5 years and there’s less and less snow. So I have to go riding 4 hours from my house in the Avoriaz ski resort, it’s my favorite resort because it has one of the best snowparks in France and what’s more the other 2 riders from the French team Quentin and Rémy are from there so we can ride together.

スノースクートとはいつ、どこで、どんな出会いをしましたか？

初めてスノースクートを知ったのは、2005年、Super Besseでした。
当時、僕はスノーボードをしていて、義父の友人数人がスノースクートでやって来ました。その中には、Hervé Bonnefontを伴ったNicolas Pillinもいました。彼らは業界ではよく知られていると思います 😂

When, where and how did you first encounter Snowscoot?

It was in Super Besse that I first discovered Snowscoot, I would say in 2005. At the time, I was snowboarding and some friends of my step father arrived on Snowscoot, among them was a certain Nicolas Pillin accompanied by Hervé Bonnefont. I think they are well-known in the industry (ahahah 😂).

スノースクートに夢中になったのはいつ頃で、どんなきっかけでしたか？

はじめはスノースクートに興味がなかった僕ですが、NicolasとHervéが乗っているのを見たこと、「やってみなよ！BMXみたいだよ！」と言われたことから、乗ってみたくなりました。
すぐにトライしてみましたが、スノーボードは辞められず、しばらくどちらも乗っていました。そして2009年からスノースクート一本になり、それは今も変わりません。

When and how did you get interested in Snowscoot?

Basically I wasn’t particularly interested in Snowscoot, but seeing Nicolas and Hervé ride and being told “try it, it’s like BMX” made me want to. I tried it quickly, but I had trouble separating myself from my snowboard so I alternated between the two. It was in 2009 that I started exclusively using Snowscoot and that’s not about to change.

初めて使用したスノースクートと、それ以外で思い出に残っているスノースクートについて教えてください！

最初のスノースクートは InsaneToys でしたが、その後、JykkのStyle-Fを手に入れました。
このスノースクートが本当にお気に入りで、初めて大会に参加した時に使ったのもStyle-Fでした。
他にはJykk ONEを2 台、Jykk 70 を2 台、Jykk 70L を 2 台 乗りました。

Tell us about the first Snowscoot you used and any other memorable Snowscoot you used?

My very first Snowscoot was an insane toys and then I managed to get a jykk style F (I was in love with this Snowscoot!) I did my first competitions with it. In total I had two jykk one, two jykk 70 and two jykk 70L.

これまでのスノースクート人生の中で印象に残っているスペシャルな経験を教えて！

思い出に残っている経験は、Jykk チームのNicolas Pillin、Hervé Bonnefont、Dusan Antalik 、Antoni Villoniと一緒に滑り、その瞬間を共有する機会があったことです。当時夢見ていたことでした。
2015 年のFreegun Snowscoot Tourという大会の際に、Super Besseでガマンとコータに会った日のことも覚えています。

Tell us about a special or memorable experience you’ve had in your Snowscoot career so far.

A memorable experience is that I had the chance to ride and share moments with the jykk team that made me dream at the time with Nicolas Pillin, Hervé Bonnefont, Dusan Antalik and Antoni Villoni. I also remember the day I met Gaman and Kota at Super Besse for the Freegun Snowscoot Tour in 2015.

WTC EXTREME (フランスのJykk 公式販売代理店) のおかげで、プロライダーになり、Jykk France チームにジョインすることができました。彼らに感謝しています！

Tell us about the best moment in your Snowscoot life so far!

The best moment of my career was when my dream came true! Becoming a pro rider and joining the jykk France team thanks to WTC EXTREME (official jykk reseller in France), thank you to them !

逆に、これまでのスノースクート人生で一番大変だったことは？そしてそれをどう克服しましたか？

最悪の瞬間は、2013年にフリースタイルの競技中に腰椎を骨折した時。
スピードが速すぎて、バックフリップをするために強く引きすぎてしまった結果、1回転半して腰からボトム着地してしまいました…
スポーツに怪我はつきものなので、受け入れなければなりません。当時は若かったので幸運だったと思います。先のことに関して何の不安もありませんでした。

Conversely, what has been the most difficult thing you’ve faced in your Snowscoot career so far, and how did you overcome it?

The worst moment of my career was when I broke my back in 2013 during a freestyle competition, I arrived too fast, I pulled too hard to do a backflip, I did a backflip and a half and I landed on my back at the bottom of the landing… It’s part of the sport, you have to accept it. I think I was lucky to be young at the time, which meant I didn’t have any apprehension about what came next.

Oh that’s difficult because there are more than 3. Sorry I’m cheating I’ll name 4 🤣 Nicolas Pillin, Dusan Antalik, Hervé Bonnefont, Corentin Desbois.

スノースクートライダー以外で、影響を受けた人や尊敬している人、目標にしている人はいますか？

義父です。ボードスポーツを教えてくれた人なので、本当に感謝しています。
そしてフリースタイルに関連するすべての分野から多くのインスピレーションを得ています。オープンマインドでいなければなりません。

Apart from Snowscoot riders, is there anyone who has influenced you, whom you respect, or who you look up to?

My stepfather, because he’s the one who introduced me to board sports, and I’m really grateful to him.I draw a lot of inspiration from all the disciplines related to freestyle. You have to be open-minded.

今使用しているスノースクートを紹介して！

フレームはJykk 70L、ボードはAK-1 のハードフレックス。Jykk XL カービングキット（ハイブッシュ）を使っています。
ハンドル周りはBMX と同じ仕様にしていて、Colonyのトップ ロード ステム、Colonyの9.3インチのハンドルバーを使っています。

Tell us about the Snowscoot you’re using now!

I ride with a jykk 70L equipped with a jykk XL carving kit, AK-1 flex hard deck, I have the same cockpit as on my bmx, a colony top load stem and a colony 9.3 handlebar.

スノースクートを楽しむために大切なことは何だと思いますか？

スノースクートを楽しむために大切なことは、雪、できれば太陽、友達、今この瞬間を楽しむこと、そして最後に夕日を眺めながら美味しいビールを飲むこと！

What do you think is important to enjoy Snowscoot?

What is important to enjoy Snowscoot is to have snow, if possible sun, friends, to have fun, to enjoy the present moment and at the end to drink a good beer in front of the sunset !

これからの目標として考えていることはありますか？

年齢が許す限りフリースタイルライディングを進化させ続けて、他の人にインスピレーションを与えられるような美しい映像や写真を残せるよう努力していきたいです。
そして、いつか日本に行ってライディングする機会があればいいなと思っています。

Do you have any goals in mind for the future?

For the future I would like to continue to progress to develop freestyle as long as my age allows me, try to make beautiful images that I hope will inspire others. And I hope that one day I will have the chance to come and ride in Japan.
